My New Smugmug Portfolio Page – So far so Great (and only 200 years late)

But better late than never!

You get a discount if you add my email (hurleyboy-at-gmail-dot-com) or go through this coupon link to sign up to Smugmug. I get something like $10 off my plan when next year comes around too.

There are 4 SmugMug plans available:

  • Basic ($40/year or $5/month)
  • Power ($60/year or $8/month)
  • Portfolio ($150/year or $20/month)
  • Business ($300/year or $35/month)

I went with the Portfolio plan. (I wanted digital downloads available and a shopping cart set up). So people can buy my stuff. :o)

Portfolio plan also gives you:

— Turnkey storefront ready at signup
— More than 1200+ prints and products to choose from
— Customers get the option to add frames, mats, mountings
— Set site-wide pricing, keep 85% of the markup
Sell digital downloads / video downloads
— Collect profits via electronic transfer

So far, so easy to set up a portfolio… all I had to do was convert all my images into SRGB, and save them as Jpegs (leaving resolution @ 300PPI).

Uploaded 80+ images, and still need to work out how to do social media on my smugmug portfolio correctly, and some minor edits (keywords and image titles etc), but happy with it so far.

Just went with a simple photo template and used the generic Smugmug layout (which looks like it works ok).

How it looks

What do you think? Nice layout or what?

Are you using Smugmug? What do you use to host your photos or portfolio?

I don’t know how that photo got in there…

Late Update

Here’s why I wanted to go with the Smugmug Portfolio plan…

So I can use the shopping cart to start selling images on Smugmug (at last)!
