35 Million Free Stock Images From Getty – for Bloggers Like You

Just like this one…

Sound great?

It took time but GettyImages has now realised that there are thousands of bloggers and websites out there who have been rather innocently using their images without really knowing how the whole copyright and licensing thing works.

I understand that, because words like copyright and licensing can sound quite complicated. :o)

Plus all those bloggers and website owners perhaps didn’t have the budget to buy the stock images either.

So what GettyImages have done is just say well we’ll let YOU (a “noncommercial” user) use our images freely for non-commercial use online, as long as you link back to the original image, just like you do when you embed a YouTube video on your website.

You can now visit Getty Images’ library of content, select an image, copy an embed HTML code and use that image on your own blog or website.

The image that appears will include a Getty photo credit and will be linked to the company’s website, where viewers can have the opportunity to license the photo.

With like 35 million images available from the Getty Images online photo archive (out of the 150 million Getty has available for licensing) you’ll now have no excuse to show amazing and relevant images for every blog post!

This will provide people with a simple and legal way to utilize content that respects creators’ rights, including the opportunity to generate licensing revenue. – Getty

In my humble opinion this is GREAT news.

NB: Embedded content must be used for “editorial purposes” – meaning events that are “newsworthy or of public interest” – and can’t be used for advertising, the terms state.

How To Do It

Just go to GettyImages and search for stock images you want. Look for this symbol Free Stock Images From Gettyto see which photos are embeddable.
